Biography of

Chaplain (Colonel) Mark E. Roeder

Deputy Commandant US Army Chaplain Center and School

 

Chaplain (COL) Mark Roeder is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and is native of Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating seminary in 1983, he served as a hospital chaplain, as well as an Associate Pastor in the Greater Cincinnati Area. He is married to the former Susan Lynne Caddell. They have two college age daughters.

 

Chaplain Roeder serves as the Deputy Commandant, USACHCS. He was commissioned as an Army Chaplain in June 1990. Upon his completion of the Chaplain Officer Basic Course at Fort Monmouth, NJ he was assigned to the 1-70 AR BN, 5th Mech Inf Div, Fort Polk, LA. CH Roeder’s assignments include: 1-66 AR BN, Ft Hood; 485th Corps Support Battalion, Hanau, Germany; IFOR / Task Force Eagle, Bosnia; 16th Ord Bn with follow-on 61st Ord Bde, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD; USMA Chaplain Office, West Point; Pacific Region, Installation Management Agency (IMA), Ft. Shafter, HI; Deputy Command Chaplain, First Army, Ft. Gillem, GA; Training, Plans and Operations Chaplain US Forces Command, Ft. McPherson / Ft. Bragg; Senior Chaplain, US Army Garrison, Grafenwoehr, Germany.

 

Chaplain Roeder’s military education includes: Command and General Staff College; Chaplain COL and LTC Courses; Fund Manager Course; Chaplain Officer Advanced and Basic Officer Courses.
